Hey Erin!

I spotted your blog address, so I hope you don't mind I've had a bit of a snoop around. You've put so much work into this, and there's some great teaching stuff in your links! I wish I was as techno-savvy as you - Wow!

Erin, I agree with the others that it is very well set out and that it is easy to navigate. :)

I will also agree that the Coat of many pockets is a good book though I haven't used it that much yet.

Personally you have reminded me of certain things that I will need to put into my writing, since I am doing the same focus topic though also learning styles, so I shall probably end up referencing your website at some stage. (If I don't then poke me with a medium sharp stick)

Nor for me to actually finish writing mine up

Well done Erin :)

Yay for referring to my blog! I can give you the actual date I wrote that report also, if you so desire...

I like the simple layout you've used, the format is easy to follow and your ideas are very well presented. I'd agree with having a look through 'Coat of Many Pockets', I used it briefly for my EET project and will be comming back to it when I get around to finishing my EXE.

The depth of thought on this topic is also evident in how you have written. I agree with you that there is a lot of information out there on the topic, it all becomes a matter of practice, and finding what works.

Keep it up!

Your 'Best Practice' should say more about what u believe makes a good teacher... If your concentration is on Classroom management i suggest you mention a little more about what teachers do to demonstrate those dot points you mentioned...like what exactly is it that you want to model?
The website is presented really well and is very easy to follow. I
especially like the links to each page in the side bar and how you've
set it out to refer to your blog as well... this shows your knowledge
of two technologies which I think is good.
"So the main lesson for me (and you) today is - ALWAYS HAVE ANOTHER OPTION!!!" this quote is particularly good and so true!!
In regards to your blog page:
-it's a very good point that you make when you say we need to be clear and consistent. It's so true that students need to learn how to behave in your classes.
If I could offer a suggestion, it's to maybe say a bit more about your ideas of best practice...

Steve,

I'm glad to have helped with the confidence factor! I can't wait to see your website. Thank you for the feedback - its nice to hear the website works and looks good (I'm biased!!), and I appreciate the suggestions to improve the best practice section.

Thanks,
Erin

Hi Erin,

I think the website you have created is just fantastic! I had no trouble navigating around it. I have been toying with the idea of making my assignment into a website for ages but seeing yours gave me the confidence to do it. I should have it finished soon.

I did behaviour management as my first assignment, and I have one suggestion to make regarding your "best practice." I think it is important to include building strong relationships with students and planning interesting lessons so that they are less likely to misbehave.

Also I would recommend reading 'a coat of many pockets.' It details how to get students to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

Good on you Erin! I am so adjusted to suburban life, I don't think I could survive if I ever had to move avay from the convenience of the supermarket. As for the metaphor, it's simple and true. I'm working on my EET now and know that once I'm done I'm going to be so incredibly relieved once it's done!
